Presentation

A 36-year-old woman presented with lymphedema. She was examined to rule out a compressive mass. June, 1997

Imaging Findings

Axial CT images of the abdomen

Axial computed tomography (CT) images demonstrate bilateral medullary nephrocalcinosis (arrows) as noted on a prior CT study (3/96). There is no evidence of a new mass, lymph node enlargement, or free fluid. There is no evident edema in the subcutaneous tissues.

Differential Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis includes medullary nephrocalcinosis, renal tubular ectasia, distal renal tubular acidosis, and hyperparathyroidism.
